The communal forest development and the conservation of the forest genetic resources

Abstract

The communal forest development, also known like social forestry, constitutes an important component of the forest development in general. It is based on the participation of the local communities as true actors in all the process of the forestry handling, that goes from the diagnosis and the planning to the systematization of the acquired experiences. The contribution of the communal forest development to the conservation of the forest genetic resources, visualizes in the conservation in situ of the biodiversity through the different strategies implemented for the protection and conservation from native forests, in the silvicultural handling that occur to the different used species, and in other specific actions of the forest genetic improvement, as they are the establishment of seed plots orchards. With the introduction of actions of conservation of forest genetic resources in communitarian activities, it is hoped to contribute at a better standard of life of indigenous rural organizations and farmers, because they will be able to obtain forest and agroforest products and sub-products of better quality, which them can return more competitive in the different markets and to improve his nourishing security, to face of and in a better way the main problematic, poverty.
