Abstract

The results of four thermophilous forests restorations done in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) are shown. The soil and climatic characteristics of the four plots are described, as well as the percentages of survivorship, the evolution of heights and basal diameters during the experiencie and their correlations. The aim of this study is to know the viability of this works, and to compare the development of the species used in this kind of ecological restorations. In base of their survival and development, Pistacia atlantica and Olea europaea subsp. cerasiformis show the best results.
