AIMS AND SCOPE: SJAR accepts research articles, reviews and short communications of content related to agriculture. Research articles and short communications must report original work not previously published in any language and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. +Read more After peer review and approval by the editorial board, SJAR publishes papers reporting research findings on the following topics: agricultural economics; agricultural engineering; agricultural environment and ecology; animal breeding, genetics and reproduction; animal health and welfare; animal production; plant breeding, genetics and genetic resources; plant physiology; plant production (field and horticultural crops); plant protection; soil science; and water management.

IMPACT FACTOR AND H INDEX: 2018 JCR (Clarivate Analytics, former Thomson Reuters, Web of Science): within the subject category "Agriculture/Multidisciplinary", which includes 56 journals, the SJAR occupies position 28 (Q2). Impact factor is 1.035; 5-yr IF is 1.189.

2018 SJR (SCImago, Scopus, Elsevier BV): within the subject area "Agricultural and Biological Sciences: Agronomy and Crop Science", which includes 320 journals, the SJAR occupies position 120 (Q2). SJR is 0.391, CiteScore is 1.24 and SNIP is 0.741.

According to Google Scholar Metrics (2014-2018), the index H of SJAR is h5=18 and the median h5=21.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY: SJAR is published quarterly (March, June, September and December).

HISTORY: Formerly known as "Investigación Agraria" the SJAR merged in 2003 from two series: "Producción y Protección Vegetales" and "Producción y Sanidad Animales" founded in 1985. The predecessor of them was "Anales del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agronómicas", first published in 1952.

Since 2015, SJAR is an electronic-only journal with no print equivalent.
