Abstract

Echthistatus cobosinew species is described based on two males from Celaque Mountain (Honduras) and one female from Chiapas (Mexico). Edechthistatus Monné, 2006 (a replacement name to Parechthistatus Giesbert, 2001) is considered a synonym of Echthistatus. The identification of the specimen figured in Chemsak & Linsley (1983) as Echthistatus spinosus Pascoe, 1862 is questioned. A key to the species of Echthistatus is added.
