Development of a dynamic growth model of even-aged Pinus pinaster Ait. Stands in Galicia
Abstract
A growth model obtained from a dynamic methodology based on the prediction of the annual basal area increment is presented. The sample data come from permanent and temporary plots installed in even-aged stands of Pinus pinaster Ait. in Galicia (Northwestern Spain). A basal area removed-total basal area ratio is used to define the type of thinning and this ratio allows to obtain the instantaneous change of the stand due to the treatment. The adventages of this type of models and their practical use in the forest management is discussed.Downloads
