Comparative analysis of the First and Second National forest inventories of Ávila province
Abstract
The author compares the figures of First and Second National Forest Inventories (IFN-1 and IFN-2 respectively) for the province of Ávila (Spain), in order to study the evolution, for the last 27 years, of wooded areas, number of major trees, growing stock for timber industry outside bark, and number of minor trees. Main differences between definitions of different categories of surfaces contained in both inventories are highlighted. Lastly, those differences are analysed and the author briefly draws the most important conclusions in relation to the evolution of agriculture, the silviculture carried out and the forest fires occurred.Downloads
